Today on the show we spotlight the name “Maria” I’m sure you thought that was an artiste yeah? Naah it means our four songs would feature songs with the title Maria.

 

No. 4. Sisi Maria – Omo Akin feat. Koker, Skales: Released in 2016 and has a remix featuring one of  east Africa’s favs; Harmonize.  The song has over 13 Million views on YouTube.

Omo Akin was born in Ibadan, South-western part of Nigeria and originally hails from Osun State. He also grew up both in Nigeria and in the UK. He attended Command Secondary school, Apata Ibadan, African church College fagba agege, Dansol High School Ikeja Lagos and his University in Kingston University London U.K. He made his debut into the Nigerian Music Industry in 2012 with his single, ‘Ta Lo Sobe. No. 3. Maria – Hwasa: Winning the Mnet Asian Music Award for Best Dance Performance – Solo, the k-Pop record was released in 2020. The official video has 49 million views on youtube and was produced by Park Woo-sang.

Hwasa whose real name is Ahn Hye-jin was born on the 23rd of July, 1995. She is a South Korean singer, songwriter, fashion model and rapper currently signed to RBW. She debuted as a member of the girl group Mamamoo in 2014.

 

No. 2. Maria – Two Feet: With almost 3 million views on YouTube, the alternative/indie record was released in 2020 and is off the pink album.

Two Feet whose real name is Zachary William “Bill” Dess,, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer from New York City. He attended Tenafly High School in Tenafly, New Jersey. Dess used to play locally in jazz and blues ensembles before forming Two Feet.
