Just so you know, migraines are different for everyone, it can start off with being too tired or stressed, lack of appetite, constipation, and for people like me, being sensitive to light and a whole lot of things.

Migraines usually starts with a dull ache moving from one side of your head to the other, and it can be in front of your head or the entire head and will get worse through physical activity. So here are four tips on how to ease migraines.

1. Try a Cold Pack:

If you have a migraine, place a cold pack on your forehead. Applying a cold pack to head helps to constrict the blood vessels and slow nerve condition. Don’t put ice directly to your head o! You can put Ice cubes wrapped in a towel placing them on your forehead, even a cold shower may ease the pain. Keep the compress on your head for 15 minutes, and then take a break for 15 minutes.

2. Dim the Lights: According to an article by WebMd published July 18, 2020, bright or flickering light, even from your computer screen, can cause severe migraine. Now when I have a migraine, this particular tip works for me. So you can dim the lights from your screen, phone, even turn off the lights in your room and during the day, try to wear sunglasses. Trust me On this, it’ll work.

3. Try Not to Chew: Chewing consistently when you have a migraine just makes it worse and it’s very discomforting. Chewing gum can hurt not just your jaw but your head, same for chewing your fingernails, lips, the inside of your cheeks, or handy objects like pens. When you notice you have a migraine, always try to avoid crunchy and sticky foods, and make sure you take small bites. This will definitely ease your migraine.

4. Sleep well and Hydrate: Drink plenty of liquids.Dehydration can cause a migraines, so always remember to stay hydrated. How you can know you’re not hydrated enough is when your pee has a deep yellow color. So stay hydrated. Also remember to sleep. The average time to sleep for adults is about 7-9 hours each night. And maybe the reason for the constant migraine is lack of sleep but If you find it difficult to sleep, try cutting down sugar or caffeine hours before bed time.
