Conan Lee Gray (born December 5, 1998) is an American singer and songwriter. Born in Lemon Grove, California and raised in Georgetown, Texas, to a father of mostly Irish ancestry and a Japanese mother. As an infant, his family moved to Hiroshima, Japan, due to his grandfather requiring medical care. After living there for two years, the family moved back to California. Gray previously spoke Japanese fluently, but has since lost his proficiency. he began uploading vlogs, covers and original songs to YouTube as a teenager. He created his official channel in 2013, and began creating videos at age fifteen. His early videos included topics such as baking and mainly focused around his everyday day life. Gray’s vlog content centers heavily on his life in small-town Texas. He is often hailed for his appreciation of Americana-related nostalgia. Gray has recorded music, showed his art, and created other videos for his vlog with more than 25 million views. Gray signed a record deal with Republic Record since the year 2018.

“Maniac” is a song by American singer-songwriter Conan Gray, released through Republic Records as the third single from his debut studio album ‘Kid Krow’ on October 24, 2019. “Maniac” was written by Gray and Dan Nigro, who also produced the song. The sing garnered over 84M views in its official music video on YouTube. The song has been certified Platinum in Australia, Brazil, Canada and the United States, becoming his first certifications in all four countries. In early 2020, the song was successful on international mainstream pop radio. It had gained 50 million accumulative streams on Spotify by January 2020, before clocking 90 million streams only two months later. The song also became trending on the video-sharing platform TikTok, debuting in the app’s Top 25 trending chart. Despite being officially released in October 2019, “Maniac” was included on Billboard’s mid-year list of The 50 Best Songs of 2020.
AWARDS: Although, he hasn’t won a couple of awards, Conan won the category for Best YouTube Musician at the Shorty Awards in 2019.
