The new comedy from writer/director David E. Talbert and producer Will Packer tells the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his family for one gift this holiday season: to get along. If they can honor that wish and spend five days under the same roof without killing one another, it will be a Christmas miracle.

Why Many Women Get Pregnant During The Christmas Holidays

If you were born in September, there’s a very good chance you were conceived during the Christmas holidays, and according to research, so were millions of people. In fact, it turns out that more babies were conceived during the Christmas holidays than any other holiday season.

FOX published a report based on a study of birth records from 1936 to 2012. Over 14 million people were studied, and from the results, most of them were conceived around the Christmas holidays. In other words, more women are likely to get pregnant during this period.

New Year’s Eve was found to be the second most popular day for baby-making. So, as it turns out, people are more in the mood for romance during the most wonderful time of the year.

Why is it so?

Biological anthropologist Helen Fisher has suggested that this could be because the festive time of the year causes a spike in the dopamine system. This increases testosterone, a hormone which happens to be linked with a high sex drive. If her theory is to be believed, most of us are probably very fertile at this time of the year because we’re simply in a better mood.

There’s also the fact that the impending New Year may make us excited to start something new. This can cause many couples in relationships to be a bit more spontaneous. Plus, we cannot discount the role that some festive alcohol might play in the whole scenario.

It is possible that the numbers are just a coincidence, but for those of you trying to conceive, you just may feel better knowing that there’s something super special in the air at Christmas time. And maybe you’ll be conceiving a September baby too.
