Details of what happened in the dressing room between Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea players after they suffered a 4-0 loss to Bournemouth have emerged.

The defeat which is the heaviest since Roman Abramovich bought the club in 2003 sees Sarri fearing that Chelsea players are not following instructions on how to play football according to his style.

Sarri kicked his coaching staff out of the dressing room and questioned the players to tell him if they had any problem with him.

No voice was raised during the one hour he spent with them in the dressing room.

“We haven’t even learned the basic moves yet,” he said. “We need to work on the basics, the primary foundations of my football – and only then will we try to change a few things.”

During the game against Bournemouth, fans turned against Sarri for the first time when he replaced Olivier Giroud with new signing Gonzalo Higuain in the second half. They sang, ‘You don’t know what you’re doing’.
