William Sami Étienne Grigahcine (born 13 June 1986), known by his stage name DJ Snake, is a French record producer. He made his international debut with the singles “Bird Machine” and “Turn Down for What” in 2013. He was born in Paris to a French father and an Algerian mother and grew up in Ermont, a banlieue district outside Paris, which he describes as a ghetto. He started DJing at age 14, and later producing at 19. In 2005, he met his manager Steve Goncalves, who encouraged Grigahcine to begin creating his own music.

No. 4. Turn Down for What ft Lil Jon: It was released on December 18, 2013. The song and its viral music video popularised the use of the phrase. The song’s success climaxed in North America where it has earned six platinum certifications in both the United States and Canada. It was Produced by Dj Snake, lil Jon and tchami. The song also won Top Electronic/Dance song at the 2015 Billboard Awards.
In 2011, DJ Snake produced for Lady Gaga’s album Born This Way. This earned him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year in February 2012. DJ Snake was co-producer for the song “Government Hooker”, which was voted best song by Lady Gaga fans after the release of the album.

The official music video hit over 1 billion views on YouTube as of 13 September 2021. The song was produced by Dj Snake, Andrew Watt and Louis Bell. The song was nominated in 2015 at the billboard awards and in 2017 at both the iHeartRadio Music Awards and the Electronic Music Awards but didn’t win.
