South African record producer, disc jockey ‘DJ Tarico’ sits on our AOTW

Tarico Caifaz Samuel Simbine  (February 28) professionally known as DJ Tarico, is a Mozambican disc jockey and record producer. He came to prominence for his smash hit single “Yaba Buluku” which also boasts a top notch remix with the African giant, Burna Boy. He released his first album “Moz Piano” in 2020.

 

When he was 14 in Secondary School, he solidified his love for music by joining an all-boys group. They would go to Reginald Studios. They taught him how to produce, write and make music while a neighbour taught him to DJ when he was 14. After two years, one of the members of the group died and the studio closed. On his own, DJ Tarico started to bootstrap his way towards getting noticed. At 21 in 2014, DJ Tarico took the music seriously and started to get noticed in 2016 as a producer.

In 2020 He released his debut album “Moz Piano” with much inspiration from the fusion of Amapiano and elements of Mozambican Pop music.

No. 2: No Where Iyanya ft Dj Tarico, Nelson Tivane and Preck: The track was released in November of 2021 and produced by Lush Beats & Dj Tarico. The Video has Over 6k Views summed up on youtube from various Accounts.

No. 1: Yaba buluku (Rmx) feat. Burnaboy, Preck ,Nelson,Tivane: With 4.6 Million Views on Youtube, This is arguably his biggest Song. The original song has 2.4 million views on youtube and was released off the album “Moz Piano Vol2”

 

“Meeting Burna Boy was exceptional, bro. Oh! It was.. I don’t know how to describe it in English,” Tarico says. “This was not just Tarico being happy, it was the whole Mozambique that was happy because people love Burna Boy here” said Tarico in an Interview with a popular blog in Nigeria.
