Chloe x Halle are an R&B duo composed of sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey. Chloe Elizabeth Bailey and Halle Lynn Bailey, were born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 1, 1998, and March 27, 2000, respectively.At a young age, the two played minor acting roles in films, including The Fighting Temptations (2003), starring Beyoncé, where Chloe starred solo, and the Disney Channel original movie Let It Shine (2012) and from there they were acknowledged by Beyoncé, who became their mentor and later signed them to her label, Parkwood Entertainment.

It was written by Chloe, Halle, and Victoria Monét, as well as Vincent van den Ende and Scott Storch, who handled the production. The official video garnered over 71 million views on YouTube. The song peaked at number 3 on the R&B Digital Song Sales chart, making it their first top five hit on that chart. The duo also created a dance challenge for the song on the popular video sharing app TikTok in 2020 and in 2021, it won the NAACP Image AWARDS for Outstanding Soul/R&B Song. The single was shortly certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America, becoming the duo’s first-ever certification in their career.
