The US says it will cut millions of dollars in military aid to Cameroon over allegations of gross human rights violations by the security forces.

The US says the Cameroonian government must investigate credible abuse allegations and hold the perpetrators accountable. Last May, the US Ambassador to Cameroon, Peter Henry Barlerin, accused the security forces of targeted killings, unlawful detentions and burning and looting villages.
