Two Dead, 21 Injured In Jebba-Mokwa Road Accident

Two males reportedly died, while other 15 males, two females and four children sustained injuries in an accident involving a trailer with number plate, ZUR 126 YL.

Information gathered on Thursday states that five persons escaped without a scratch in the accident which occurred on Jebba-Mokwa/Berger road.

The Kwara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Sunday Maku, said the accident was caused by failure of the vehicle’s brakes, adding that 28 people were involved in the crash.

He said, “Two people died, while 15 males, two females and four children were injured.  About N435,000 was recovered from the scene.”

The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lawan Ado, said it was imperative for the police and the state vigilance groups to cooperate to enhance security.

He spoke during a meeting with the ‘Eminent Persons Forum,’  in Ilorin, where he called on traditional rulers, transport unions and other stakeholders to collaborate with the police in the fight against crime.

He added that credible information and collaboration of members of the public would enhance the performances of the police.
