This Week We Pan Our Spotlight On NINIOLA

Share

We pan our spotlight today to a classy and very comfortable music sensation. One who has continued a good run with strategy gains from 2017 into 18.

She started the year on a high, kicking off from where she stopped in 2017 with this Sarz produced song titled Saro. Saro comes as the 3rd official Single off the Album, as Niniola promises to take us on an interesting journey in 2018.

Often referred to as the Nigerian’s emerging Queen of Afro-House, Nini has challenged the status quo and proven that success can actually come from the road less travelled. With each stride she makes, she is unwittingly championing the cause of thousands of creatives who now question market trends; the likes of Timi Dakolo, Bez, Adekunle Gold, Simi, Johnny Drille and a host of others who have stuck to their dynamic-artistry and are showing they could be standards themselves.

Born NINIOLA APATA aka NINIOLA is a singer, song writer and performer on the 15 of December into a family that had nothing but Love and support for each other.

Attended Apata Memorial School after which she went and bagged her Bachelor of Education from the University of Lagos.

She fell in love with music as a kid and in high school, she had a sort of request show during her free time where her friends will make requests and she will sing to her classmates. This was possible because of her large repertoire of songs and clear vocals… She was tagged “the human radio“.

She later joined the school’s cultural group and participated in social activities. Although she immersed herself in music, and enjoyed accolades from friends and family, she wanted the world to hear her voice. Thus going for a couple of competitions thereby harnessing her singing skills.

Her first Official Single “Ibadi” which was produced by Sarz, is of a new genre which she created for herself and called it “AFRO-HOUSE” – a blend of Afrobeat and House music. The single went on to become a massive hit in Nigeria and around the continent.

Niniola started her fame walk on the MTN Project Fame talent show as a finalist, placing third runner-up in 2013. From that point, the Ekiti State native kicked off on a quest to become a seasoned songstress to be revered across the continent.

With a fiery stage presence she conjures a wild alter ego; she isn’t shy to take control, to morph from her usual quiet self to a wrecking ball whose presence and stage performance remains smashing yet leaves her audience with a sweet aftertaste on their palates and an insatiable urge to crave for an encore performance.

She would not stop there; she went on to put out songs like “Gbowode”, “Akara Oyibo”, “Soke”, “Shaba”, “J’ete”, “Start All Over”, “Jigi Jigi” & the current global hit and new wave singles “Maradona” & “Sicker”.

All Niniola’s songs have topped various charts globally with Maradona currently leading the trend. She has also made appearances on several songs which have also made waves too.

Niniola has also worked with EDDY KENZO from Uganda. The BET AWARD Winner featured her on the remix of his hit single “Mbilo Mbilo”. Her contribution won them the award for Best Collaboration at the 2016 AFRIMA Awards.

On the 3rd of November 2017, Niniola released her most anticipated debut album “This Is Me“.
