2019 is already looking to be an impactful year in music as renowned talents, talents in the limelight, new talents yet to be fully tapped and more untapped talents have started gearing up to coming through with more unique vibes. In view of all of that, we put a spotlight on 4 musical bands to look out for this 2019 on our #AOTW today: girl groups, boy groups, men groups, women groups across the universe. A quick background to what inspired today. Towards the end of 2018, there was a list of many musical groups being disbanded, formed, and reformed as well as those who have gone on hiatus! Apparently there are more numbers of disbanded groups as well as bands on hiatus compared to number of newly formed bands and those reformed this past year.

That’s right! About 20 bands were reportedly disbanded; 7 SecondsAt the Drive-InBalance and ComposureDarkness DividedDirge WithinIron ManA Lot Like Birds, Minus the BearThe OrwellsThe Pizza UndergroundRushSleeping GiantSoundgardenThe StrypesThe ThermalsVattnetYoung and in the Way9. Few bands were reformed; Bleeding Through, Daron Malakian and Scars on Broadway, The Distillers, Framing Hanley, The Gaslight Anthem, Mötley Crüe, Static-X. Some bands were formed: two out of them are Kids See Ghosts, Royal Coda. Some are now on hiatus.

you know the most painful of those on hiatus right now is the American girl group Fifth Harmony. Their going on hiatus was announced through their official Twitter account in a screenshot message explaining they were going their separate to try new things creatively on their own in March 2018. I knew that was gonna happen since 2016 Camila Cabello left. In another news which sounds like the UK Spice girls may be reforming this 2019 as their official Twitter account announced in November 2018 that the four remaining members will be teaming up for Spice World 2019 U.K. Tour, consisting of six U.K. dates to kick off  on 1st june  to end in June 15 with a show.

“Posh Spice” i.e Victoria Beckham, the fifth member of the Spice Girls, will not be joining her former bandmates on tour. She confirmed that via an instagram post “I won’t be joining my girls on stage again but being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish my girls so much love and fun as they go back on tour,” She did not say why she wasn’t joining them. Now let’s get you guys meet our 4 bands music groups this 2019.

No 4  RBB (Really Bad Boy): The 5th Mini Album (EP)

One of the bands to look out for in 2018 is one of the most popular K-pop groups worldwide according to Billboard. Red Velvet -a South Korean girl group consisting of four group members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy and Joy.  The group debuted on August 1, 2014, with the digital single “Happiness”. They made their Japanese debut in July 2018 with the extended play #Cookie Jar. They have has released two studio albums with eight of them topping South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart.

Red Velvet made their summery comeback with mini-album Summer Magic, and title track “Power Up” with over 5.4 million views on YouTube since the time of release last year August, after reaching one million in three hours making them become the girl group with the highest number of unique listeners in the first hour of a release on Korean music streaming site Melon.

They their song “Millions“about two weeks now and will be kicking off with their Everywhere tour soon.”  This year will be the first time in three years that K-pop girl groups will be holding multi-city tours. This year will be the first time in three years that K-pop girl groups will be holding multi-city tours. Red Velvet plays on what they call their “red” and “velvet” sides, which influences both their image and the music they release.

No 3: “Comfortably Numb” Hayajan band

Many Jordanian bands and artists are reportedly taking a blend of Arab-western electronic pop to the world this 2019 and we decided to introduce one of the arabian movers and shakers to take over the waves this 2019 today. An alternative rock/indie-pop band Hayajan (meaning Excitement). Hayajan is a 5-man band called Arabic Coldplay due to their genres and style of music: rock/pop/ alternative.

Hayajan band with the Saudi Arabia cultural root made their debut in 2011 with the release of their single Ween El-Kalam on YouTube  (which had great reception and reviews).Their first album,Ya Bay, was released in 2013 containing both meaningful and meaningless Arabic lyrics, styles. It has eight original and two cover tracks, Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd and Nude by Radiohead. In the course of this research I read that Arabs “are notorious for drawing inspiration from foreign bands and singers.” and that when their mainstream artists do it, it mostly ends in comedic disaster. Now, let’s listen to Hayajan’s cover of  “Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd. The song is arranged with Arabic lyrics and I feel like I need this on my playlist.

No 2 Anything to Save by Royal Coda

Royal Coda is an American rock band based in Sacramento, California, formed in 2017. The band with the logo like a set of prayer’s hands announced its formation on January 28, 2018, revealing that they signed to independent record label Blue Swan Records. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Kurt Travis, guitarist Sergio Medina, bass guitarist Jason Ellis, and drummer Joseph Arrington.

Royal Coda was founded by guitarist and musician Sergio Medina in 2017 after wanting to pursue a musical project which would include various collaborations with other musicians and vocalists. On February 16, 2018, the band premiered their debut single “Anything to Save”. “Cut Me Under”, was released later in March, tthird song, “Breathe Correct”, released in April 12, with a streaming premiere on Substream Magazine. Royal Coda toured from August 23 to September 23, 2018. They recruited vocalist and guitarist Thomas Erak and guitarist Jason Ellis; it was later revealed that the group confirmed Erak and Ellis as permanent members.

The Self-Titled album Royal Coda deals largely with somewhat conventional themes of love and loss. The album is definitely something to get into as a whole rather than it is something to get into over one element over another. The lead single, “Anything to Save”, was released for digital download and streaming services on February 16, 2018

Plenty of raw musical talent is set to be unearthed as more and more acts arrive on the music scene ready to show their talents.  Y’all remember, in November, we featured 4 some relatively newbie acts as best new artists to look out for in 2019 due to so much buzz around them as wave makers in the industry between 2017 and 2018 speaking of Johnny Orlando, Brazilian singer Anita, Juice Wrld, Khalid and Ella Mai. 2019 is about to get turnt with more new bands on board and ready to take the vibe further even with the ones in the industry already.

This takes us to our band/#1 song on the show today. Do you all remember April 19, 2018 when Kanye West announced via Twitter that a collaborative album with Kid Cudi would be released in June? Now, it all looking like Kanye and the American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer and actor Scott Ramon Mescudi, better known as Kid Cudi  are cooking a band business together as both the American hip hop duo released their eponymous debut album (i.e album titled in their names), Kids See Ghosts, on June 8, 2018, through GOOD Music.

Yeah Kanye actually followed the tweet revealing the name of the group, which also serves as title of their debut album, Kids See Ghosts in 2018. Kids See Ghosts debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart serving as West’s tenth top-five album and Cudi’s sixth top-five album in the United States. All seven tracks on the album debuted in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. A track titled “Reborn” was released on June 8, 2018. It was initially mislabeled as the first track on the album, “Feel the Love”. It is the longest song on the album. It charted in the United States, United Kingdom and 6 other countries in 2018. It was the highest charting song from the album in the United States, Ireland and France. It was certified Gold in the US.

The song finds both Kanye and Cudi dealing with the personal issues, often aired out in public, they’ve overcome. Kanye alludes to his bipolar disorder and the public controversies it may have caused (“I was off the meds, I was called insane / What a awesome thing, engulfed in shame”). ”
