These Hidden Components Of Bottled Water Can Make You Gain Weight

You probably never imagined that water can make you gain weight. Normally, this wouldn’t happen, but when it comes to bottled water, it’s a whole different story entirely.

There have recently been reports about dangerous chemicals that are hiding in canned foods and bottled drinks, including water. Some of these chemicals are known as xenoestrogens and they can lead to long-term health problems.

A particularly dangerous one, according to FirstForWomen, is Bisphenol A (BPA). It can be found in some plastic bottles and it’s also found in the lining of cans used for canned foods.

This chemical has been linked to health problems like diabetes, metabolic disorders and even fertility issues. It can also cause your body to hold on to stubborn fat.

BPA causes a release of fake estrogens that can result in a sluggish thyroid which can have an overall effect on your body’s metabolism. Studies have also shown that it stimulates the production of fat cells. This becomes a problem because the more fat cells you have, the easier it is for you to gain weight.

What you can do to stay safe

If you want to reduce your chances of being exposed to BPA, you may want to avoid drinking bottled water. If you must drink it however, never drink bottled water that has been left in a hot car as this has been shown to be even more dangerous.

You should also avoid heating food in plastic containers in the microwave. Glass containers are safer. In addition, cut down the amount of canned food in your diet and completely avoid foods that come from a dented can.
