According to an article on MedicalNewsToday.com published by Jenna Fletcher on September 14, 2017, Slimming Teas are often exhibited as a way to loss weight and cleanse the body. The mechanism is that the tea stimulates digestion, aids metabolism and in some cases, gets rid of body impurities. As there are different varieties of slimming teas, none gives a long lasting result to weight loss and none is safe to use.

EFFECTS OF SLIMMING TEAS

There is very little or no evidence that slimming tea is effective. However these are the hazards that advertisers don’t tell you about.

Laxatives: These are substances that loosen stools and increase bowels movement. Laxatives in slimming teas can cause cramping, diarrhoea, weakened colon and so on.

Increased metabolism: A lot of  slimming teas claim to boost the metabolism. Increasing the work is what happens not boosting, as the body system struggles with ingredients added to the slimming tea. Causing the metabolism to work tirelessly till it wears out. Anyone who burns more calories than they take in, will lose weight.

Diuretics: Diuretics which is also called water pills. It is supposed to remove extra fluids and salts out of the body and not fats and calories. It then leads to:

  • Dehydration
  • Muscle cramps
  • Cardiac arrhythmia

Death: This can occur when all side effects are fully in process and cannot be managed.

In conclusion, it is an obvious awareness as I would call it, that slimming teas are not a safe measure of losing weight. So please, slow down or completely eliminate it and adopt other effective options of losing weight.
