Kiss Daniel was born Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe in Ogun State, Nigeria. He hails from Abeokuta North, a local government area in Ogun State. He graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in 2013, with a degree in Water Resources Management and Agrometeorology (Water Engineering). While at FUNAAB, he decided to pursue music as a career alongside his studies.

Daniel grew up pretty much in Ogun State but travel around nigeria and diaspora during school breaks. Kiss Daniel showed an interest in music from an early age, and was encouraged by his father. He started his music career professionally 2013 after his tertiary education, when he came across G-Worldwide Entertainment CEO, Emperor Geezy.

After being signed to G-Worldwide entertainment, he released his first official single “Shoye” which was produced by Beatburx on May 1, 2014, along with a music video was directed by MEX.

Kiss released his second single “Woju”, produced by DJ Coublon on September 1, 2014. The video for Woju was directed by Adasa Cookey, shot in Lagos. The song spent eleven weeks on the MTV Base Official Naija Top Ten, including six weeks at the number one spot.

WOJU

After dropping his blast single “WOJU” late 2014, the singer had the publicity of his life as the song topped many Nigerian charts for months even on Itunes. The song is arguably said to be the Anthem of the Year.

After remixing the song Woju featuring stars in the industry Davido and Tiwa savage, the song became a huger blast in the industry, peaking at Number 1 and Number 2 respectively on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10, the first time that an original song and its remix would peak at the first and second positions on the chart. A cover of the song performed by 2face Idibia appeared online.

His studio album New Era was released on the 14th of May in 2016 with the support of G-Worldwide Entertainment record label. It comprises his most prominent songs, such as: Laye, Good Time, Woju.

Upon its release, New Era debuted at #8 on the Billboard World Album Chart in the week of 4 June 2016.

New Era was met to positive critical reviews among music critics in the local media. Aribaba of Jaguda gave the album 4 stars out of 5, stating that: “New Era, ironically does well in attempting to usher in a new era of pop music in Nigeria. A new set of expectations, and a new standard…. For this, we say a big Kudos to Kiss Daniel and his team”.

New Era won Album of the Year and Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2016.

Basically, he wants to be known for Afro-centric music, anything Africa, Afrohip-hop, Afro R&B, he just wants to put a little bit of Afro in his music.

ICYMI: Kiss Daniel leaves G-Worldwide, launches own label

The pop star confirmed his departure from G-Worldwide. Series of reports went around social media stating an alleged launch of his own label, FLYBOI I.N.C

The 23-year-old singer confirmed it himself while responding to a tweet from a fan who congratulated him for leaving G-worldwide.

In September 2015, Daniel won two awards within the space of three weeks.
