It’s time to know who that is/are those special artists dominating the #AOTW segment today. It’s gonna be a total vibe on as we talk 4 Nigerian albums of 2019. These albums are hot and the artists are making mad waves. On the Nigeria Apple Music Top Albums recently, there are about 200 (199 in total) artists across all genres from across the world on the spotlight. And I’m proud to say that top 10 are: Fireboy DML with the album – Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps, followed by Naira Marley – Lol (Lord of Lamba) –EP, StarBoy – SoundMan Vol. 1 (feat. Wizkid), Davido – A Good Time, Show Dem Camp – The Palmwine Express, Roddy Ricch – Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial, Sarz & WurlD – I LOVE GIRLS WITH TROBUL, Burna Boy – African Giant, Stormzy – Heavy Is The Head and and finally Joeboy – Love & Light –EP (courtesy kworb.net/charts/apple_a/ng. )
Many biggest music acts in the country have their albums out already talking, Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid, Falz, Asa, Yemi Alade,. Also Lady Donli, Wurld among others. Some other big acts Tiwa Savage is still working on hers I believe. I am not pretty sure if Adekunle Gold, YCee, Reekado Banks, Peruzzi have all dropped albums yet. Some of them actually promised us albums before the year runs out perhaps some are currently still working on their albums.
So we are gonna be looking at these 4 artists’ albums: Fireboy DML, Sarz & WurlD, ,Lady Donli,and Falz The Bhad Guy. They appear to have been rated high among the top music this 2019. We are deliberately leaving the likes of Burna Boy, Davido, Wizkid out of this list. We couldn’t have had enough of them. I am not going to say anything further. If you know you know.

No 4 “Mad” (music video already out)
The late singer-songwriter, Wurld came together with Sarz and released this EP in October.
Both the producer Sarz and singer-songwriter Wurld had some kind of mutual friendship which perhaps brought the connection for them to explore working together. WurlD in his interview with vibe.com said one of their “biggest challenges” making the EP was that they were both in different places throughout the process”. Also in the interview Sarz said they “had to go back and forth with ideas” because WurlD’s “musical background and experiences” were different than his.
WurlD who was born Sadiq Onifade recently passed away won Best Vocal Performance (Male) with his “Wishes and Butterflies” of 2018. He also released Love is Contagious the the album on 28 March 2019 via Wurld Music Entertainment. He developed interest in music at the university back in US. In 2015 WurlD went certified Gold with his Sony Music release track “Follow You” with Polish DJ, Gromee and in 2017, he received a nomination for Best Diaspora Act at the Nigerian Entertainment Award. He has a Hit single now called ‘Trobul’ is off Wurld Love is Contagious the album. May his soul rest in Peace

Lady Donli appears to have caught more attention this 2019. She released her album in August. We have spotlighted here on our AOTW sometime ago when we played you a song titled cash or Boomerang She’s known for soul/R&B blend of music. Donli who is more of a Northern bred raps in the album at some point. She was inspired by American music. We jam you that Northern Nigeria-inspire sound song that has message for the entire Nigeria right away
- Falz – Moral Instruction Abum,
No 2 Brother’s Keeper (feat. SeeS)
Falz started off the year 2019 with his fourth studio album Moral Instruction dropping in January (15) Falz is one of the brightest rappers in Nigeria whose genres include: Hip hop, rap, Afro beats. The album was produced by BahdGuy Record. Sess; Chillz; TMXO; Willis also worked on it. Some have said one or two about the album in comparison to his previous albums in terms of messages I mean this is a masterpiece everyone needs to hear. It won Album of the Year at this year’s Headies award (2019). The album’s lead single “Talk” was released on January 12, 2019. Falz’s narrative skills and cognizant efforts to deliver positive messages also well apparaised by some Nigerians. He described the album as a movement, re-education and re-orientation. The album is considered an extension of the rapper’s 2018 single “This Is Nigeria”,
It’s funny how many pretend not to accept Naira Marley but cannot do without vibing to his music. The Marlians they call them. This jam is such a vibe. It’s a 6-track EP produced by the likes of Killertunes, Studio Magik and Rexxie.
- Fireboy Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps the album
Fire Boy since his hit single “Jealous” last year has been winning hearts and charts here in Nigeria. The debut album Fireboy Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps is a 13-track album released on 28 November. Surprisingly artist is featured on the album. Why? Fireboy 23-year old YBNL signee basically does afro with a blend of country, soul and other forms genre of music no guest features. This album is said to be one of the best Nigerian albums to come out in 2019
