Yesterday, Jake Paul revealed to Seventeen that he “fell out of love” with his ex-wife, Tana Mongeau, which is part of the reason why they decided to split earlier this month.

Now, Tana is opening up to Seventeen about why, after five months together and a Las Vegas wedding, she’s ready to leave Jake behind.

Currently, Jake is getting ready for his professional boxing debut against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib on January 30th, which you can watch on DAZN. Jake has been putting everything he has into preparing for this fight, which apparently left little time for Tana.

“All of his love is going toward boxing and I’m giving all this love, expecting it in return, but he can’t give it,” she told Seventeen. “I never want to be in a relationship that’s one-sided.”

Still, though, the exes remain friends, and Tana is very excited for Jake’s big boxing debut.

“Seeing him in a place where he can just succeed and thrive with no distraction makes me happy and I know that at this time of life that’s absolutely what’s right for him,” said the 21-year-old YouTuber.

Being on good terms is important for the two, especially considering they will be working together on a new show for MTV. Since the breakup, the pair has taken a couple weeks off from shooting in order to “chill out,” according to Tana.

“When we do start shooting a show in a few months from now, I assume that no matter where we’re at, we’ll be great friends and we’ll find a way to make it work,” she said.

In fact, Tana admitted to still having feelings for her ex, saying, “just because you’re on a break with someone doesn’t mean it’s like a light switch and you can turn off the feelings you have for them.” She continued, “I care about Jake so much as a person and I always want to be friends. So I hope that if we work together in 2020, we can do it in harmony as friends.”
