Togo hammered Nigeria’s Super Eagles 4-1 in the first leg of their second round 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier scheduled for Cameroon.

Nigeria Professional Football League joint top scorer last season Sunusi Ibrahim opened his national team goal account when he fired his side ahead just after eight minutes of action.

The goal gave Imama Amapakabo’s men a bright start in the game as they found the back of the net in the first ten minutes of the encounter.

And both sides ended the first installment of the game one goal apiece – a score line still favourable to the visitors.

The two teams resumed hostilities in the second half but it was Togo who utilised their chances as Nane doubled his side’s lead in the 67th minute to complete his brace in the game.

Barely nine minutes after taking the lead for the first time in the fixture, Tchakei Marouf scored to open a two goal margin for the Hawks – leaving the Eagles team B confused.

Agoro Ashraf’s 92nd minute strike put the game beyond Nigeria ahead of their second scheduled to be played on October 18 at a yet to be decided venue.
