Jessica Ho (born December 17, 1988), better known by her stage name Jessi, is a American rapper, singer, and entertainer based in South Korea. She was born in New York, raised in New Jersey, and moved to South Korea at the age of 15. Jessi attended Korea Kent Foreign School along with Girls’ Generation members Tiffany Young and Jessica Jung.

Four – Get Up

Off her Album “Get Up” which was released on the first of December 2005, through  Doremi Records, the official music video garnered over 253k views on YouTube. This was off her early years as a growing artist.

More On Jessi

Jessi made her debut with single album Get Up in 2005 which was what we played you. In 2006 the hip hop group Uptown featured her in their album Testimony, replacing their original vocalist Yoon Mi-rae. Jessi’s second single album, entitled “The Rebirth”, was released in January 2009. After the release, she took a break from music, and left Korea to return to America.

In 2014, after a 5-year hiatus, Jessi returned as a member of hip-hop trio Lucky J with rapper J’Kyun and vocalist J-Yo. Lucky J debuted with the digital single “Can You Hear Me” under YMC Entertainment in July of that year.

She is a former member of the hip-hop groups Uptown and Lucky J, and project girl groups Unnies and Refund Sisters.

On January 24, 2019, she signed with PSY’s new agency, P NATION and On July 6, P NATION announced Jessi’s departure from the agency after her three-year contract had expired since then and she decided not to renew it.

Three – Cold Blooded

On the 12th October 2021, “Cold Blooded” served as a collaborative track, featuring Mnet’s dance crew competitors from its show, Street Woman Fighter. It garnered over 80m views on it’s official video on YouTube. On the World Digital Song Sales chart it peaked at number twelve. On South Korea’s Gaon Music chart it climbed up to number thirty and is a number twenty-two hit on the K-Pop Hot 100.

  • In 2021, She won the Award for Best Solo Artist at the Golden Disc Awards
  • In 2016, she won the award for Cable Star Awards in the category of Best Singer at the Korea Cable Awards
  • In 2021, she won the award for Best R&B/Hip-Hop Artist at Korea First Brand Awards
  • In 2020 and 2021, her song “Nunu nana” won an award for Favorite Dance Performance at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and Best R&B Hiphop Award at the Seoul Music Awards.

Two – Zoom

“Zoom” is a song by Korean-American rapper and singer Jessi which garnered over 135m views on its official video on YouTube. It was released on April 13, 2022, by P Nation and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. It was written by Jessi, Psy, Bobblehead, and Yumdda and produced by Psy, Yoo Geon-hyung, and Bayb. It peaked on number 93 on the Billboard Global 200, Number 12 on Goan in South Korea and number 9 on the South Korea Billboard. The song became a viral hit on video platform TikTok.

Bonus – Shivers By Ed Sheeran Ft Jessi And SUNMI

Shivers was originally released as a single off Ed Sheerans fifth studio album but was later remixed with Jessi and SUNMI a couple of months later on the 24th of November 2021. It garnered over 3.9m views on it’s official Audio in YouTube.

One – Nunu Nana

Off her EP “Nunu Nana” peaked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart, becoming her first top-ten single as a solo artist and her highest-charting solo single. The song also peaked at number two on the Billboard Korea K-pop Hot 100 and at number 17 on the World Digital Songs Sales chart. It was released on July 30, 2020 by P-Nation and distributed by Kakao M. On August 14, the music video for “Numb” was released and it garnered over 190M views on YouTube. In 2020, the song won the award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards for Favorite Dance Performance.
