A well-known sex offender is back in jail after he broke his parole conditions for a second time.

Edward Latimer, whose bail conditions restrict him from going to Northbridge, Perth, was arrested on Sunday after he was found in the forbidden area.

That was the second time the 61-year-old breached bail with his previous violation being on September 7, as reported by 7News.

At that time, Latimer was also found in Northbridge but a magistrate released him on the grounds that he had a ‘good excuse’ for being there.

He explained Latimer had to depart the bus at that location because he urgently needed to use the bathroom.

The sex offender’s initial release in July sparked outrage among the community.

WA Attorney-General John Quigley QC said Latimer should have been denied bail after his first breach.

Mr Quigley told 7News he was strongly opposed to his release in early September, but accepted the Magistrate’s decision.

I’m not here to quarrel with the magistrate who had the facts before him, but I wasn’t happy,’ he said.
