While on stage at the event, she made it know that her son was away from the country and so couldn’t be present to receive the award himself.
She also used the opportunity to thank US rapper Kanye West for naming his album Ye which is the title of one of Burna Boy’s track. Many fans of Kanye West mistakenly downloaded Burna Boy’s song bearing the same title thinking it was Kanye’s own work. That led to huge sales for Burna Boy.
