Neymar’s Return and Birthday boy Dani Alves the Ballerina – Ligue 1 goes social

There was good news for PSG despite being held to a draw with Amiens as the Brazil star finally returned to the capital following his injury

Paris Saint-Germain suffered the minor inconvenience on Friday of learning that they could no longer reach 100 points in the season. A 2-2 draw in Amiens means that that barrier is unattainable for them this season, yet on Tuesday they have the consolation of the Coupe de France final against Les Herbiers to make up for that setback.

The title is already theirs, and for that reason Dani Alves was still able to enjoy his birthday in his usual outgoing style on Sunday.

The former Barcelona and Juventus star turned 35, and he seems to have had a great time celebrating his special day.

“It’s my birthday, it’s my birthday, it’s Good Crazy birthday,” he told his followers on Sunday, while posting a hilarious video of him dressed up as an inflatable ballerina.

Of course, the Brazil star did not need to remind anyone of the importance on the date, with the club posting a compilation of his most memorable moments to their Facebook account.

“The nickname ‘Good Crazy’ sticks to his skin!” PSG’s social media accounts commented.

Meanwhile, Neymar also wish his compatriot a happy birthday.

“Congratulations brother, best wishes and all that blah, blah, blah,” the striker said. “It’s you birthday but it’s us who got the gift – to have you in our lives!

“I love you my idol.”

Neymar, meanwhile, is back in France after several weeks in Brazil overcoming a foot injury. PSG are hopeful he may be able to feature before the end of the Ligue 1 season, and the superstar is certainly looking strong.

Away from the capital, the big story in Ligue 1 this week has been Marseille’s progress to the Europa League final, where they will meet Atletico Madrid.

Although Rudi Garcia’s side were defeated 2-0 after 90 minutes by RB Salzburg, they were able to negotiate a period of extra-time successfully, with a goal from Rolando settling the tie in their favour and sending them to Lyon.

It was a fixture that meant a great deal to the fans, as striker Valere Germain showed with a clip of him driving up to the training centre before leaving for Austria.

The reaction after the game from the players, though, was even more spectacular, as they celebrated wildly in the dressing room.

“Victory without peril is a triumph without glory,” Florian Thauvin told his Instagram followers. “This is OM. We’re in the final; well done to the whole team.”

Marseille have around a week to prepare to face Diego Simeone’s side, while they are also embroiled in a thrilling three-way battle to finish in the top four of Ligue 1 along with Monaco and Lyon.

Indeed, the season is coming to a thrilling climax at both ends of the table, with the penultimate instalment due next Saturday.
