Lisa was born Pranpriya Manobal on March 27, 1997, in Buriram Province, Thailand, later legally changing her name to Lalisa, meaning “the one being praised”, at the advice of a fortune teller for prosperity. Lalisa is known mononymously as Lisa, she is a Thai rapper, singer, dancer and actress and she is also a member of the South Korean girl group called Blackpink. She is an only child raised by her Thai mother, Chitthip Brüschweiler, and her Swiss stepfather, chef Marco Brüschweiler. Lisa completed secondary education at Praphamontree School I and II. After enrolling in dance classes at the age of four, she began competing regularly in contests and eventually joined a couple of dance crews. Lisa also participated as a school representative in the singing contest Top 3 Good Morals of Thailand, hosted by the Moral Promotion Center in early 2009, finishing as the runner-up. In 2010, at age 13, Lisa auditioned to join South Korean record label YG Entertainment in Thailand. She gained an interest in the K-pop industry in her childhood, admiring artists such as BigBang and 2NE1, and aspired to follow a similar path. Among the 4,000 applicants, she was the only individual to qualify, which prompted then-CEO Yang Hyun-suk into offering Lisa a chance to become a YG Entertainment trainee. At her audition, Lisa also impressed one of the judges, Danny Im of 1TYM, who later praised her on-stage confidence and her off-stage attitude.
Four: Lalisa
“Lalisa” is the debut solo single by Thai rapper and singer Lisa from her debut single album of the same name (2021). It was released through YG Entertainment and Interscope Records on September 10, 2021, as the lead single from the album. This song has garnered over 560M streams on spotify and over 738M views on it’s Official Music Video on YouTube. Commercially, “Lalisa” peaked at number two on the Billboard Global 200, becoming Lisa’s first top-ten hit on the chart. Upon its release, “Lalisa” received criticism for its lyrics and composition; however, Lisa herself was praised for her charisma and quality of performance. The video received 73.6 million views within 24 hours, breaking the record for the most-viewed music video in a single day from a soloist on the platform, and earned two Guinness World Records for the feat.

Three: Rockstar
“Rockstar” was released through Lloud and RCA Records on June 27, 2024, as the lead single from her latest debut studio album, Alter Ego (2025). This track was written by Lisa, Brittany Amaradio, James Essien, Lucy Healey, Ryan Tedder and Sam Homaee while production was handled by the latter two. It marked Lisa’s first solo single in three years and her first release since departing from YG Entertainment and Interscope Records as a solo artist in 2023. It has garnered over 350M streams on spotify and over 260M views on it’s official music video on YouTube. Music critics positively reviewed “Rockstar” as Lisa’s best solo material yet, though its lyrics were met with some criticism. The song was a commercial success and peaked at number four on the Billboard Global 200 and number one on the Global Excl. U.S., becoming Lisa’s third top-ten hit on both charts and her first number-one hit on the latter. To promote the single, Lisa performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, the Global Citizen Festival and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Two: Born Again ft. Doja Cat and Raye
Serving as Lisa’s latest single release, “Born Again” is a song by Thai rapper and singer Lisa featuring American rapper and singer Doja Cat and British singer-songwriter Raye. It was released through Lloud and RCA Records on February 6, 2025, as the fourth single from Lisa’s latest debut studio album, Alter Ego (2025). The song featured before its release in a trailer for the third season of the HBO television series The White Lotus starring Lisa. It has garnered over 68M streams on spotify and over 48M views on it’s official music video on YouTube. “Born Again” features production by Andrew Wells and Raye herself. Lyrically, it is a breakup empowerment song in which the three artists each detail what their ex-lover lost by giving up on their relationship. They taunt their former partners by boasting about their glow-ups since their relationships’ dissolutions.

Lisa’s all time hit song, “Money” is a song by Thai rapper and singer Lisa from her debut single album Lalisa (2021). It was released to US contemporary hit radio by Interscope Records on November 9, 2021, as the second single from the album. It is an American rap style track over a laid-back horn beat with boastful lyrics about spending money and being rich. The song marked Lisa’s final release as a soloist under YG and Interscope, before her departure from the labels in December 2023. It has garnered over 1.2B streams on spotify and over 1B views on it’s Official Music Video on YouTube. “Money” achieved commercial success worldwide and peaked at number ten on the Billboard Global 200, becoming Lisa’s second top-ten hit and the longest-charting song at the time by a K-pop soloist.
