Mark Ronson checks in with his mate Miley Cyrus for updates on how she’s doing since splitting from Liam Hemsworth.
The producer, who recently worked with Miley on the single Nothing Breaks Like A Heart, popped in to Good Morning Britain to talk about his new album Late Night Feelings. Presenters Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard probed a bit about the DJ’s friendship with the singer, asking if he knew how she was doing since her marriage breakdown.
Looking slightly awkward, he explained: ‘She’s just become a good friend so I just check in with her like, “Hey are you doing ok?” and this kind of thing. ‘I don’t know too much of the details.’ He was also probed about his own heartbreak, having split from model Joséphine de La Baume last year.
Trying to steer the interview back to his album, the 44-year-old said: ‘I’m doing alright. I think there’s a lot of other people involved in this record, not everyone was going through a break up but everyone knows what it feels like. ‘It’s a little like therapy, I just have Elton John’s sad songs in my head while I’m speaking to you.’
Viewers felt just as awkward watching as they felt the questions were a bit too personal.
