Luke Albert Combs (born March 2, 1990) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Born and raised in North Carolina. Combs is an only child, was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to Rhonda and Chester Combs. He moved to Asheville, North Carolina at the age of 8. He has been performing as a vocalist since childhood. While attending A.C Reynolds Highschool, Combs played football and performed with multiple vocal groups, including performing a solo at Carnegie Hall. Later, he attended Appalachian State University where he worked as a bouncer at a bar before gaining stage time in that same bar. He played his first country music show at the Parthenon Cafe in Boone and within less than a month left in his senior year, he dropped out, moving to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue his country music career. In early 2016, Combs started dating Nicole Hocking, and the two became engaged in November 2018. They married in Florida on August 1, 2020 and On June 19, 2022, their son, Tex Lawrence Combs was born.

“Hurricane” is the debut single of American country music singer Luke Combs. The song was released through Columbia Nashville in 2016 after initially charting in 2015. It garnered over 370M views on its official music video on YouTube. It is included on his debut album “This One’s for You”. The song was written by Combs, along with Thomas Archer and Taylor Phillips. “Hurricane” reached number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. It also peaked at numbers 3 and 31 on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts respectively. The song received a 3× Platinum-certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and the song has sold 670,000 copies in the United States as of January 2018. Garnering over 365m views on its official music video on YouTube, the song “Beautiful Crazy” was released on the 3rd of December, 2018 as a bonus track to his debut album “This one’s for you”. The song was written alongside Wyatt Durrette and Robert Williford. On the Hot Country Songs chart dated May 19, 2018, “Beautiful Crazy” debuted at number 6, Combs’s highest debut on that chart at the time. It reached number one on the Country Airplay chart dated March 2, 2019, making Combs the first artist to send his or her first five singles to number one since the inception of Nielsen SoundScan in January 1990. The song was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 22, 2018, Platinum on January 28, 2019, and double Platinum on March 18, 2019. It has sold 610,000 copies in the United States as of March 2020. The song “Beautiful Crazy” won the award for Song of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards.

Combs’ music has earned him two Grammy Award nominations, two iHeart Radio music Awards, four Academy of Country Music Awards and sis Country Music Association, including the 2021 & 2022 Entertainer of the Year award, their highest honor.
