FINANCIAL Secretary of Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr J. Kayode Oni, has regained his freedom from kidnappers’ den.
Spokesman of the PDP in the state, Mr Jackson Adebayo had announced Oni’s release, on Wednesday, and explained that the PDP chief was set free late on Tuesday night.
Adebayo said Oni was taken to the hospital on Wednesday morning where he was checked and released and added that “he was part of the meeting of the party’s state working committee held on Wednesday.”
Oni was seized on Saturday at a location between Efon and Erio communities as he returned from Efon, where he had gone for an assignment.
The abductors had demanded the sum of N30million ransom for his release.
Adebayo, however, said “no ransom was paid” for the release of the abducted Ekiti PDP official.
