Kano Govt. Seeks Foreign Investment In Hausa Movies

Kano state government on Friday said it had started searching for foreign investors to develop Hausa Film industry in the state.

The Executive Secretary of the state Censorship Board, Alhaji Isma’il Na’abba, said this in an interview with newsmen in Kano.Na’abba said a delegation comprising members of the industry, censorship board and the Commissioner for Finance had recently visited Morocco to negotiate with interested investors.
He said the delegation, invited to the country by a private company, had discussion with a television station which had interested in Hausa movies. “We discussed many issues on how to improve quality of the movies as well as on expansion of sales and marketing of the films.” The Secretary said the state government would also partner with a film institute in Rabat for the training of actors, producers and others in various skills and arts of film making.
