Jose Mourinho stunned factory workers in Solihull as he picked up the keys for his exclusive new car. The Manchester United boss paid a surprise visit to the £2billion state-of-the art Jaguar Land Rover plant earlier this week. Mourinho, 54, wore the company’s signature green overalls as he helped oversee the making of his bespoke motor by joining workers on factory floor.
The Portuguese gave the staff a glimpse of what life is like inside the Old Trafford dressing room as he delivers a motivational pep talk before staff put the finishing touches on his new car, the 100,000th F-Pace. The Jaguar F-PACE retails from £34,170. And Mourinho was thrilled to see his new wheels, which were recently voted the best SUV car on the planet by the 2017 World Car of the Year voting panel, for the first time.
“It was an amazing experience to visit Jaguar’s factory and see all the cars, technology and hard work that goes into developing such a beautiful car,” said Mourinho, speaking to Mirror Football days before his title-chasing side take on Newcastle in the Premier League. The car is the fastest selling Jaguar in history, reaching the 100,000 sales mark in record time.
Mourinho test drove the F-PACE a year ago in extreme conditions, mastering the skill of high-speed drifting on a frozen lake in Sweden. “It’s great to have one of the most successful football managers drive the F-PACE,” said Jaguar’s director of design, Ian Callum.
