The iconic outfits of the late princess of Wales, Diana, are to be part of the fashion exhibition taking place in Kensington Palace, London.

The exhibition, named ‘Diana: Her Fashion Story’, opened in February, 2018.

One of the  iconic outfits to be exhibited is her “landmines” outfit, with an Armani chinos and a sleeveless blue denim shirt, which she wore during her high profile visit to Angola in 1997.

Other outfits that will also be showing include; a glamorous, purple Versace gown worn by the princess to a Chicago fundraising gala in aid of cancer charities, and the pink Bellville Sassoon suit she wore to board the train on her way to her honeymoon in 1981.

A Victor Edelstein evening gown worn for an official portrait by Terence Donovan in 1986 and a tartan day dress by Caroline Charles also made the list.

According to the exhibition curator at Historic Royal Palaces, Eleri Lynn, Diana was one of the most photographed women in the world, and it’s no coincidence that so many of her outfits are now among the most easily recognisable in fashion history. ”

The special exhibition first opened in 2017 to mark the 20th anniversary of Diana’s death and will continue throughout 2018.
