Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer ‘KillBeatz’ jumps on our #AOTW segment

Joseph Kwame Addison, popularly known as KillBeatz, is a Ghanaian music producer and sound engineer. He is a member of music group R2bees and is also the CEO of Legacy Life Entertainment, which has signed the Ghanaian musician King Promise. KillBeatz started playing instruments for his church before he ventured into secular music. He started as a rapper and later switched to music production. He got the name KillBeatz from Ghanaian rapper Omar Sterling (Paedae) of R2Bees.

Four – Hallelujah by Burna Boy: This video garnered over 32M views on YouTube was released in the year 2017. It was of course produced by Killbeatz and by producing this song, he created a bond with Burna Boy

Three – Dangerous Love by Fuse ODG feat. Sean Paul: Produced and recorded by Killbeatz “Dangerous Love” is a single by English-Ghanaian recording artist Fuse ODG, featuring Jamaican singer Sean Paul. The official video garnered over 25M views on YouTube. The song was released in the United Kingdom as a digital download on 18 May 2014. The song peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, number 4 on the Scottish Singles Chart and

number 55 on the Irish Singles Chart. “Dangerous Love” was nominated for Best Song at the MOBO Awards 2014, following his win in 2013 for Best African Act.

  • Killbeatz won Producer of the Year at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) in 2013, 2014, and 2018
  • He received production credit on a song titled “Bibia Be Ye Ye” by British singer Ed Sheeran.  The song was part of Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (“Divide”) album, which won Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018.
  • “Dangerous Love” was nominated for Best Song at the MOBO Awards 2014, following his win in 2013 for Best African Act.

Two – Odo Nti feat. King Promise & Ofori Amponsah: This is his latest EP “Love and Happiness” which was released on the 2nd of October 2020. It garnered over 1M views on it’s official music video on YouTube.

Bonus: Slow down – R2Bees feat. Wizkid: The official music video garnered over 22M views on YouTube which was released 9 years ago, 2013. Slow down produced by Killbeatz received the nomination for best collaboration at the MTV Africa Music Award.

One – Bibia Be Ye Ye by Ed Sheeran

Produced by none other than Killbeatz himself, the official music video garnered over 62M views on YouTube. He received production credit on a song titled “Bibia Be Ye Ye” by British singer Ed Sheeran. The song which was part of the Ed Sheeran’s Album divide went through in winning the Best Pop Vocal Album at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018.
