News about the termination of Nigerian football coach, Sunday Oliseh from the Dutch club, Fortuna Sittard went viral yesterday, and now the coach is speaking about why the club ‘fired’ him. Oliseh in his defense stated that his refusal to participate in illegal activities at the club led to his sack.

The Club had accused Oliseh for not getting along with management and had strained relations with players and staff.

Oliseh wrote on his Twitter page,

“I confirm: Due to my refusal to participate in Illegal activities at Fortuna Sittard  and violate the Law, I have been suspended from my duties as Coach by the Foreign Owners of Fortuna.

“Unfortunate for the lovely fans, my players & our hard fought phenomenal positioning for promotion.”

The management of Fortuna had written, “The club management makes this decision as a result of the repeatedly culpable actions for a longer period by the trainer towards several persons in the organization.

“Several attempts by the club to move the trainer to other behaviour remained unfortunately without result, resulting in an unworkable situation as a result,” the club had claimed.”

Sunday Oliseh reply to the claim of his sack on Twitter.
