DMX to be released from prison next month

American rapper and actor, DMX is set to be released from jail next month after getting an getting an early release.

DMX’s attorney, Murray Richman, is quoted to have revealed that the American rapper will be released from Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution on Jan. 27, and he’s excited about coming home to his family and resuming his rap and movie career after serving a 12-month sentence for tax evasion.

DMX, who has 15 children, has been writing lots of songs in prison and he’s planning to drop a new album when he’s released, according to TMZ.

In an earlier report from TMZ, prosecutors originally wanted to give X a five-year sentence in his tax evasion case. This was to make sure the rapper never did it again. It also came after he failed a drug test while out on bond. In the end, DMX will have served less than a year but will be supervised closely for the next three years
