The champions league round of 16 draws comes with mixed feelings for different club supporters. For some it’s a sure banker while others would be panicking right now. Am particularly excited about the Real Madrid fixture, at least we are certain one of the two clubs will not be winning the title.
Three of the English teams that made it to the round of 16 would be very much excited, because if football is played the way it is on paper, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool should scale through with little or no problem. For Chelsea and Tottenham, they will need much work and luck to scale through.
What an irony, Bayern finishes second and gets Beskitas, while PSG finishes first and gets 12-time winners Real Madrid. Now, Chelsea and Barcelona have had the most meetings in the knock out phase aside from Real and Bayern who have met on 8 occasions. Besiktas will definitely not be happy with this fixture, making it out of the group stage for the first time, they get drawn with Bayern. Chelsea on the other end will be biting their fingers because if they had finished group winners, they would have avoided Barcelona, even if they have had the better record in their 12-time meeting with the Spanish giant.
