Cardiovascular diseases and causes

Share

Heart disease and stroke are part of a group of cardiovascular diseases. It is the leading cause of death for both male and female. These diseases affect your heart and blood vessels. Stroke is a condition in which the brain can’t get enough blood flow. This happens because one or more blood vessels leading to the brain are blocked or have burst.

CAUSES

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE: High blood pressure is a leading cause of heart disease and stroke because it damages the lining of the
arteries, making them more susceptible to the buildup of plaque, which narrows the arteries leading to the heart and brain.

HIGH CONSUMPTION OF CHOLESTEROL: That’s because excess cholesterol can build up in the walls of arteries and limit blood flow to a person’s heart, brain, kidneys, other organs, and legs.

DIABETES: Over time, high blood sugar from diabetes can damage blood vessels in the heart and block blood vessels leading to the brain, causing a stroke.

SMOKING: Making blood sticky and more likely to clot, which can block blood flow to the heart and brain.

And finally, the good news, however, is that 80% of premature heart attacks and strokes are preventable. Healthy diet, regular physical activity, and not using tobacco products are the keys to prevention. Always see your doctor for proper check regardless of symptoms and all.
