Yeah! Canadian singer/song writer Carly Jepsen is also an actress. She was born on 21st November, 1985 (33), in Mission, British Columbia. As a child Jepsen’s father would sing to her songs before bed and this inspired her to pursue music as a career option. Jepsen wrote her first song at nine – a “terrible protest song” called They’re Cutting Down the Big Trees. Her first love song, Dear You, came when she was 17. After graduation from high school, Jespen moved to the West Side Vancouver. Over there, she worked as a chef assistant and bartender. Later, she gained admission into the Canadian College of Performing Arts in Victoria, British Columbia.
Earlier in 2007, Carly Jespen had gone to try her luck at the fifth season of Canadian Idol auditions Beverly Holmes where she performed her original composition ‘Sweet Talker’. She placed third in the finale of the show. In June 2008, her début single ‘Sunshine on My Shoulders’, a cover of John Denver’s song was released. Subsequently she got signed by Fontana and MapleMusic. Later in September 2008, her debut album ‘Tug of War’ came through; also her singles “Tug of War” and “Bucket” both peaked in the top 40 of the Canadian Hot 100 and received Gold certifications for sales of 40,000 units each. Then she dropped final single and went on tour with a couple of other artists in 2009.
In September 2011, Carly Jepsen released lead single “Call Me Maybe”off her 2nd studio album ‘Kiss’ which was out in September 2012. Call Me Maybe is her best-selling single ever. The song brought her into the limelight. It’s our #1 song on the show. Right now, we push in #4 from her debut album of the same title.

Her 4th collaboration album ‘Emotion’ with Rostam Batmanglij (of Vampire Weekend), Sia Furler, Ariel Rechtshaid, Greg Kurstin, and Dev Hynes peaked at the eighth position in Canada and at number 16 in the U.S. The album peaked at number eight in Canada and at number 16 on the US Billboard 200. Jepsen released Emotion: Side B in August 2016, an EP containing eight cut tracks from Emotion. In May 2017, Jepsen released the single “Cut to the Feeling”.
