Dr Paul Okorie, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi  Wednesday said  that the re-election victory of President Muhammadu Buhari in the Feb. 23 Presidential election is an act of God.

Okorie, a former Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation in the state, commended the electorate for demonstrating love, support and belief in Buhari through the ballot. Okorie, who also contested the governorship ticket of APC, urged contestants who lost in the election to team up with the president to build a prosperous and great Nigeria.

The chieftain, a former Commissioner for Environment, said that the second term administration of Buhari would be used to consolidate on the achievements recorded in his outgoing first term. He said that fight against indulgence, anti-graft campaign and the need for economic diversification, job creation; youth empowerment and social investment programme would receive a boost.

“The Buhari’s victory is a well deserved victory, he has worked so very hard and he is still working hard to develop Nigeria and in all estimations, he to earn his victory. “He has done well in key in administration’s focus, especially in infrastructure development, economic diversification, agriculture and human empowerment where he has performed very well. “The development of railways in Nigeria has received serious attention, more than any other administration before because the sector has been stagnated over the years.

“Also, our roads are getting better, if you want to travel to Lagos, from within 6 hours you are in Lagos due to improved road infrastructure.

“There is going to be frontal attack on corruption because the effort of this administration in this regard has been quite commendable. “Many, hitherto considered as above the law and therefore untouchable have been prosecuted, convicted and sentenced,” Okorie said. He urged Nigerians from across social, economic, political, religious and ethnic divides to partner with the president to achieve more for country. “We still have many challenges facing us as a nation and as a people but if we rally round the president who is a God-sent, more can be achieved and the country will be better. “ Okorie also expressed confidence that the victory of Buhari would enhance the chances of APC in Ebonyi in the March 9 Governorship and State House of Assembly.
