An eight year-old boy suffered a brain bleed after being beaten unconscious by bullies in his school bathroom.

Christian Boynton had to be rushed to hospital after he was attacked at Lakewood Elementary School in Tomball, Texas, on Tuesday morning.

He says three classmates who’d previously harassed him followed him off the bus at the start of the day, then battered him as he went to use the restroom.

Christian was rushed to the local Tomball Hospital, where doctors found he’d suffered a minor brain bleed.

The youngster has since been transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston for specialist treatment.

His sister Kailee told ABC13: ‘This traumatic experience, to be heard by a whole bunch of people, that way they can see that bullying is a real thing.

‘And it’s even, you know, prominent in these young ages – eight, nine, 10 years old – and it needs to be addressed.

It needs to be addressed at school, it needs to be addressed at home.’

Kailee says her parents do not wish to criticize Lakewood Elementary.

She says they would prefer to work with the school to try and find a solution to the bullying crisis which culminated in Christian being attacked. The school said they were investigating the incident.

A spokesman said: ‘Tomball ISD is aware of an incident in the bathroom between several students at one of our elementary schools that resulted in one student being sent to the hospital with an injury.

‘That student has since been released home.|

‘Out of respect for the family and the student’s privacy, we are not providing any more details on the incident at this time.

‘We are thoroughly investigating the incident and will take appropriate disciplinary measures for all those involved.’
