Border closure to extend beyond 28 days earlier fixed – NSA

Retired Major General Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser (NSA) has revealed that Nigeria’s closed border will not be opened until the objectives behind the closure are achieved.

The NSA disclosed this when he spoke to journalist over the weekend.

According to him, the ongoing joint taskforce operation in the borders will extend beyond the 28 days earlier fixed and will last till the objectives are achieved, Channels TV reports.

There is no definite date or time that we will conclude this exercise and we start seeing positive results “This exercise is to free the country from criminal activities including smuggling and enhance the economy.

It is also aimed to secure the state of livelihood,” he said.
