A man suffered a deep cut to his ear after he was bitten during a row on a train about mobile phone noise. The 24-year-old needed hospital treatment after another passenger on a train clamped down on his ear as they argued over whether his friend was talking too loudly.

The victim was on board the 11.40pm service from London Bridge to Peckham Rye with friends on 6 October when they were approached by another passenger. According to British Transport Police, the passenger told the victim his friend was talking too loudly on his mobile phone, and a row followed.

The man then bit the victim’s ear. The victim sat back down after the incident, and he and his friend got off at Peckham Rye. Police have made enquiries and wish to speak to the man in CCTV footage as they believe he may have information about the assault.
