Born Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard on the 17th of August 2003. He is an Australian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is from one of the many Indigenous Australian Nations, the Kamilaroi people from which he derived his artist name “Laroi”. he originally gained recognition from his association and friendship with late rapper Juice Wrld, who mentored him while he was on tour in Australia.

 

Laroi gained a local following before joining a partnership agreement with Lil Bibby’s Grade A Productions and Columbia Records. He became known outside Australia with his song “Let Her Go”, and gained further popularity with his song “Go” featuring Juice Wrld, which peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot 100. His debut mixtape F*ck Love (2020) peaked at number one on the Australian ARIA Charts, making him the youngest Australian solo artist ever to reach the top. It also reached number three on the US Billboard 200.

 

No. 4. Let Her Go: With over 31 million Views on YouTube, The video was directed by Cole Bennett,released in 2019 and gave him entry into the spotlight.

 

Fun Fact: Laroi currently resides in Los Angeles, California with his mother and younger brother, Austin.

 

No. 3. Go feat. Juice Wrld: Released on 12 June 2020 as the first single from Laroi’s debut mixtape F*ck Love. The song was recorded while the two, who were close friends, met up in Greece in 2019. That recording is included in the song’s official video, with both the song and video serving as a tribute to Juice Wrld who died in December 2019.

 

 

No. 2. Stay feat. Justin Bieber: It was released through Grade A Productions and Columbia Records on 9 July 2021 as the lead single from Laroi’s upcoming project, F*ck Lov3. The song was produced by Blake Slatkin, Cashmere Cat, Charlie Puth, and Omer Fedi. The song marks the second collaboration between Laroi and Bieber, following Bieber’s song, “Unstable”, a track off of his sixth studio album, Justice, in March 2021

In 2021 he won the APRA awards for the category of Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year. He also got nominated at the 2020 ARIA awards and J awards for his fck love Mixtape

 

No. 1. Without You: It was released to alternative radio on 18 December 2020 as the fifth overall single from the mixtape. Produced by Blake Slatkin and Omer Fedi, it currhas over 62M views on youtube and also has a remix with Miley Cyrus. The song debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 63, on the week of 19 December 2020, and peaked at number 23 in May 2021. The remix, featuring Miley Cyrus, gave the song a boost in popularity later and gave the song a new peak of number eight, becoming Laroi’s first top 10 song as lead artist and highest charting single.
