Today we’re placing the spotlight on Nigerian songs that have become street anthems we can’t go a day without hearing and singing along! This particular street bangers have been numbered according to the views their official videos have garnered on YouTube

 

Four: Palazzo – DJ Spinall ft Asake

The song was released on the 13th of May, 2022 and was co-produced by Magix Sticks and DJ Spinall. The music video was directed by TG Omori and has over 3.6M views on Youtube.  It peaked at number one in the first week of its release and peaked at two on Apple Music 100 for the 7th of June, 2022. One of the Nigerian top DJ’s (DJ Spinall) teams up fast rising Artist Asake to release this smashing hit.

 

Oluseye Desmond Sodamola, professionally known as Spinall, is a Nigerian disc jockey, record producer, songwriter, label executive, and media personality. He is one of the most celebrated disc jockeys in Nigeria and Africa and has been associated with many superstars in the industry like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Wande Coal, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and more.

 

Three: Zazoo – Portable ft Olamide & Pocolee

The song garnered 7.5M views on it’s official music video on YouTube. The song was released in December 2021. The song was produced by P.Prime and has risen to become one of the famous street anthems which features Nigeria’s one and only Baddo, Olamide and Pocolee.

 

Habeeb Okikiola, famously known as Portable is a rapper, singer and songwriter. Portable was born on the 12th of March 1994. He is from Abeokuta in Ogun State, where he spent his childhood with his family. Nothing much has been revealed about his educational background but He had his primary and secondary education in Ogun State, Nigeria. He revealed in one of his many interviews that he dropped out of school to pursue his music career.

 

Two: Sungba remix – Asake ft Burna Boy

Call it the song of the quarter or the moment “Sungba” garnered over 11M views on it’s official video on YouTube. It was released on the 27th of March,2022. It peaked at number one in the first week of its release and as of the 7th June 2022, it peaked at the number 9 spot on Apple Music Top 100 songs.  Asake teamed up with the African Giant; Burna boy dropping gems for a fresh new anthem. The remix is accompanied by a flashy official music video directed by popular filmmaker, TG Omori.

 

Asake, otherwise known as MR MONEY is an Afropop and Afrobeat musician from Nigeria. He was born Ahmed Ololade, in the late 1990s and brought up by Yoruba parents in Lagos, Nigeria. He is a singer and songwriter.

Eltee skhillz – ODG

Off his album “Body of Work” garnered over 1.5M Views on it’s official video on YouTube which later blew up when Ghetto Kids danced to the song and this particular video garnered 1.5M views on YouTube. The song emerged as the most Shazamed song in Nigeria and trended on social media. ODG is also the most viral Nigerian song internationally released in 2022.

 

Eltee Skhillz whose real name is Olowu Taiwo is the step son of a veteran actor, Jide Kosoko and his late wife, Henrietta was born on the 29th of May and hails from Ogun state. He began his music career 13 years ago when he released ‘Jekafo’. However, it was not until he released ODG (Odogwu Na The Spender) in late 2021 that he became a household name.

 

One: Finesse – Pheelz ft BNXN

The official music video garnered over 17M views on YouTube. The song was officially released on the 3rd of March,2022. Finesse hit viral mark  after it was teased on Tiktok by the Producer and it became the most Shazamed song in the world within one week of release. On Tiktok it has over 880k recreated videos and it peaked at number one in the first week of its release and it’s currently at the number 14 spot on Apple Music Top 100 for the 7th of June,2022.
