Today on the artist of the week segment we take a look at the brains behind most of the hit jams in the Nigeria and spotlight them on their own body of work(album/Ep). 

 

No. 4. Pheelz – Body Of Work: Hear me Out (EP)

Bio: Born Phillip Kayode Moses (born June 5, 1994), born in Lagos State, better known as Pheelz, He is a Nigerian record producer and song writer. He was Born and raised in Lagos, Pheelz is credited to have produced all but one song in Olamide’s Baddest Guy Ever Liveth album. His breakthrough as a record producer came in 2012, when he produced the chart-topping singles by Olamide titled “First of All” and “Fucking With The Devil” off his YBNL album.

Body Of  Work: Hear Me Out: The Ep “Hear Me Out”consists of 5 solid tracks with no features. With the production credit from Phelz Himself. It was released in Mid 2021(june) and its highest topping song with 230k views on Youtube is “Wayward Girl”. It also takes the no. 4. spot on TheBoxShow Africa this week.

 

No. 3. Masterkraft – Body of work: Masta Groove (Album)

Bio: Sunday Ginikachukwu Nweke, professionally known as Masterkraft, is a Nigerian record producer, disc jockey, band director, pianist, and songwriter. He started his professional music career with Kennis Music, and has worked with artists such as Flavour N’abania, Bracket, Banky W., Sound Sultan, Timaya, Lynxxx, M.I and J. Martins, among others

Body Of Work: Masta Groove: With his recent smashing hit “Hallelu” ft Zlatan and Bella Shmurder still on the Apple Music Nigeria 100 Chat, Masterkraft comes through with a new project: Masta groove. The 7 track body of work which features; Selebobo, Diamond Platnumz, Flavour, Sarkodie, Larry Gaaga, Vector, Seun Kuti & Mr. Talkbox. Production credits obviously goes to masterkraft himself. No. 2. Rexxie – Body Of Work: A True Champion (Album)

Bio: Ezeh Chisom Faith (born 10 November 1994; professionally known as Rexxie) Also known for the tag (Yo Rexxie Pon This One) is a Nigerian record producer, DJ and songwriter. He is popular for creating the Zanku sound, and producing Naira Marley’s Soapy, Tesumole and the monster hit KPK with Mohbad.

Body Of Work: A True Champion: This body of work is a 17 track project with all tracks produced by Rexxie (PonDit), except Track 11 Co-produced by HORSH. The album features acts like Davido, Teni, T Classic and a host of many other celebrities.  Frenemies is the number one song on the album tracklist and features Oxlade. Its currently has over 8.6 views on youtube in just over a week of being released and it sits comfortably at our no. 2. spot on the show this week

 

No. 1. Sarz – Sinym (Sarz Is Not Your Mate)

Bio: Osabuohien Osaretin (born March 17, 1989), better known by his stage name Sarz, is a Nigerian record producer and musician. Born in Benin City, Edo State. He attended All Saints Primary School and had his high school education at Goodwill Secondary School. Sarz describes his entry into the music scene as a mistake; attributing his love for music and his ability to remember a beat in detail after hearing it piqued his interest in music production.

Body of work: Sinym (Sarz Is Not Your Mate): The 6-track project, which he says was put together in two weeks,sees Sarz uniquely take a trippy and eclectic yet electrifying left-field adventure inspired by the ‘Riddim’ sound A Jamaican adaptation of the word Rhythm. ”Good morning Riddim”, the first track off the album, takes its stand as the no. 1. song on the show this week. With over 1.1 million views on youtube since its release in January 2019.
