Today on the segment, we taking a different path bringing to your ears, the most streamed songs from various artists on SPOTIFY as of October 2022 to January 2023. 

FOUR – Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift

Anti-Hero” is a song by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift was released on the 21st of October 2022 as the lead single from her tenth studio album, Midnights (2022). Written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff, “Anti-Hero” is a pop rock and synth-pop song driven by looped drums and retro synthesizers. It garnered over 104M views on its official video on YouTube. Upon the release of Midnights, “Anti-Hero” earned over 17.4 million plays in its first 24 hours on Spotify globally, becoming the biggest opening day for a song in the platform’s history And as of the 27th of October, 2022, the song had over 64M streams, also maintaining the number one spot in three weeks.

Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American singer-songwriter. Born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville at age 14 to become a country artist.

THREE – Kill Bill by SZA

Kill Bill” is a song by American singer-songwriter SZA which was released on the 10th of January, 2023 from her second studio album, SOS (2022). “Kill Bill” surpassed “Kiss Me More” as SZA’s highest-charting song in the United States, peaking at number 2 for four weeks, and it became her first number one on the US Streaming Songs and Billboard Global 200 charts.

On the 5th of January, 2023, it achieved over 44.4M views on Spotify, with the song spending 2 weeks at the number one spot on Spotify. The song reached the top 10 in over 10 territories worldwide, with number one peaks in six countries. A music video for the song premiered on the same day; directed by Christian Breslauer, which garnered over 21M views on YouTube. “Kill Bill” debuted within the top 15 of the UK Singles Chart and It became SZA’s first top 10 solo song in the United Kingdom at the beginning of 2023, once December ended and Christmas songs began leaving the chart. It peaked at number 3 around the same time in Ireland; the following week, “Kill Bill” reached a new peak of number 3 in the UK Singles Chart, with 35,780 sales recorded during the tracking period.

Solána Imani Rowe (born November 8, 1989), known professionally as SZA is an American singer and songwriter. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she began making music in the early 2010s, releasing two extended plays before signing with the hip hop record label Top Dawg Entertainment.

TWO – Flowers by Miley Cyrus

Flowers” is a song by American singer Miley Cyrus. It was released on January 12, 2023, through Columbia Records as the lead single from Cyrus’s upcoming eighth studio album, Endless Summer Vacation (2023). The song was a massive commercial success, garnering a record-breaking 101+ million streams on Spotify within the first week of release and topping multiple charts worldwide, including the US Billboard Hot 100. Specifically, on the 13th of January, 2023, “flowers” was streamed over 105.2 times and it was the number one song on Spotify globally. It garnered over 188M views on its official music video on YouTube.

ONE – Blinding Lights by The Weeknd

“Blinding Lights” is a song by Canadian singer the Weeknd. It was released on November 29, 2019, through XO and Republic Records, as the second single from his fourth studio album, After Hours (2020).  On 1 January 2023, “Blinding Lights” became the most streamed song on the platform, surpassing Sheeran’s “Shape of You”, which was the most streamed song for 1928 days. It garnered over 676M views on its official music video on YouTube. The song was written and produced by the Weeknd alongside Swedish musicians Max Martin and Oscar Holter, with fellow Canadian musicians Belly and DaHeala receiving additional writing credits. The song was met with universal acclaim. In the United States, “Blinding Lights” topped the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, and went on to set new records as the song with most weeks spent in the top 5 and top 10, as well as the first song to hold a spot in the top 10 on the chart for an entire year. It is the longest charting song by a solo artist on the Hot 100 of all time, spending 90 weeks on the chart.
