Making this list was a tough one because 2021 was filled with smashing hits from all of our favs! Everyone single person gave us jams, the new school acts were really on fire; from Zinoleesky having a great run to Buju really taking his stand in the industry and of course we cannot ignore the impact Rema, Ruger and Ayra star made!  Its very funny to think that just recently shattawale was shading the Nigerian music Industry saying; we have no stars! Lol.   Away from that lets get straight to the music.

N0. 4. Goldly – Omah lay: The song tallied over 1.12 billion radio impressions, 234 million TV impressions, and 36.7 million equivalent streams. It also peaked at No. 1 on the weekly TurnTable Top 50 chart for 11 weeks (a record for the longest No. 1 song in chart history). The song is off the EP “what have we done” released in 2020 and was produced by Tempoe. Its official video has 54M views.

Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay, is a Nigerian singer. He released his self-produced debut single “Do Not Disturb” in April 2019. He won the Next Rated award at the 2020 Headies Awards. He is 24.

 

No. 3. Feeling – Ladipoe feat. Buju: Feeling” has tallied over 636 million radio impressions, 84.2 million TV impressions and 24.2 million equivalent streams. The song, released on May 7, 2021.  Additionally, “Feeling” peaked at No. 1 on the weekly TurnTable Top 50 chart for five weeks where it became the first song to reach No. 1 on three different occasions. The song has 6.9 Million views on Youtube.

 

Ladipo Eso popularly known as Ladipoe or Poe is a Nigerian musician. On 28 February 2017, Ladipoe signed a record deal with Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the song “Feel Alright” where he got featured by SDC “Show Dem Camp”.

 

No. 2. Essence – Wizkid feat. Tems: The global chart topping effort has tallied over 760 million radio impressions, 151 million TV impressions and 14.6 million equivalent streams. This also includes charts points from its “Essence (Remix)” with Justin Bieber.  With 59Million banging views on youtube, the song peaked on the billboard top 100 songs with its Justin Bieber remix. It also stayed(and is still) on the Apple Music Top 100 Songs for Nigeria since its release off the Made in Lagos album.

 

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (born 16 July 1990), known professionally as Wizkid, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He rose to the limelight after releasing “Holla at Your Boy”, the lead single from his debut studio album, Superstar (2011)

 

Bonus. KPK – Rexxie ft Mohbad: With its official video garnering over 6.7 Million views on Youtube, it also tallied over 764 million in radio reach, 29 million in TV reach and 20.9 million equivalent streams. This also includes the chart points from “KPK (Remix)” with Sho Madjozi. It was produced by Rexxie and has its vocals delivered by mohbad

 

No. 1. Love Nwantiti – Ckay feat. Joeboy. Kuame Eugene: With a whooping 170 Million views on youtube, this song takes our number one spot on the show today! The success of this song is undeniable. From Tiktok to Triller and Instagram reels this song can be said to be 2021’s official Anthem!  It peaked on major chats like the UK top 40 songs, Spotify Hottest Songs, Apple Music Nigeria and Many other charts. It was originally released in 2019 off the “Ckay. The first” project. It was produced by Ckay himself.  Although in most countries the main remix by CKay featuring Joeboy and Kuami Eugene was released, another version, the North African remix with ElGrande Toto became a hit in Germany, Italy, Austria and Denmark.
