#AOTW: 4 Highest First-Weeks Most Consumed Albums As Of March 2019

It’s a different kind of feel today looking at what music is highly rated based consumption which includes (sales + streaming + track equivalent) in the United States. However, the following four albums include: Death Race for Love by Juice Wrld, The Wizrd by Future, Drip or Drown 2 by Gunnaand Father of 4 by Offset. We start off all the way from the lowest which is No. 4.

 

No. 4: Death Race for Love by Juice Wrld: (PLAY Hear Me Calling – 2nd single released on Feb28, 2019)

It’s the second studio album by American rapper Juice Wrld. It was released on March 8, 2019, through Grade A and Interscope Records. It follows his two 2018 projects: his solo project, Goodbye & Good Riddance, and his collaborative mixtape with Future, Wrld on Drugs. It includes the Nick Mira-produced lead single, “Robbery”, which was released on February 13, and the Purps-produced “Hear Me Calling”, which was released on February 28, 2019. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200.

According to music critics, received an average score of 61, based on 10 reviews, indicating “generally favorable reviews. Commercial performance: Death Race for Love debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 165,000 album-equivalent units, of which 43,000 were pure album sales. It is Juice Wrld’s first US number-one album. The album moved an additional 74,000 equivalent units in its second week, remaining at number one on the Billboard 200.

Remember American rapper, singer, and songwriter Jarad Higgins better known by his stage name Juice Wrld, 21, was one of our #AOTW in 2018. He gained mainstream recognition after the release of the single “Lucid Dreams” in 2018, which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100; this helped him gain a recording contract with Lil Bibby’s Grade A Productions and Interscope Records.

 

No. 3: The Wizrd by Future (PLAY Jumpin on a Jet)

Wizrd is the seventh studio album by American rapper Future, released on January 18, 2019, through Epic Records and Freebandz. It was announced on January 4 with the release of the lead single “Crushed Up”, and the album was additionally promoted by a film titled The Wizrd, released on January 11 on Apple Music. Second single, “Jumpin on a Jet”, was released on January 9.The album features 20 songs and includes guest appearances from Young Thug, Gunna, and Travis Scott.

According to critics, the Wizrd received generally positive reviews from critics.  At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 70, based on 11 reviews.

Commercial performance: The Wizrd debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 with 125,000 album-equivalent units (including 15,000 pure album sales). It is Future’s sixth US number-one album

 

No. 2: Drip or Drown 2 by rapper Gunna (PLAY Headed Snake” ft Young Thug)

Drip or Drown 2 is the debut studio album by American rapper Gunna, released on February 22, 2019, through YSL Records. It serves as the sequel to his 2017 EP Drip or DrownThe album features guest appearances from Young Thug, Lil Baby, and Playboi Carti. It also features production by Wheezy and Turbo, among others

Critical reception: At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted mean rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received a score of 76, based on 6 reviews. Commercial performance: Drip or Drown 2 debuted at number three on the US Billboard 200 with 90,000 album-equivalent units (including 7,000 in pure album sales) in its first week, making it Gunna’s highest-peaking album in the US and his second top 10 album there

RIP Nipsey! Nipsey Hussle was fatally shot out front of his store in Los Angeles on March 31. He was 33 years old.

(His most recent single released Feb. 15, and the highest-charting record of the four, earning the No. 45 spot.  This marks the first time in his career that Nip has reached the Hot 100 chart as the primary act. The other three records: “Double Up,”, “Last Time That I Checc’d,” and “Dedication.

 

No. 1: Father of 4 by rapper Offset (PLAY “Clout” featuring Cardi B released on March 15, 2019)

Kiari Kendrell Cephus, 28, is known professionally as Offset is a member of the hip hop and trap music trio Migos, alongside cousins Takeoff and Quavo.

Father of 4 is the debut studio album by American rapper Offset. It was released on February 22, 2019, by Motown and Quality Control Music. The album’s release makes Offset the third and final member from Migos to release a solo album. It features guest appearances by J. Cole, Cardi B, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, Big Rube, Gunna, CeeLo Green, Quavo and Gucci Mane.

Father of 4 received generally positive reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 74, based on 7 reviews.

Commercial performance: Father of 4 debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 with 89,000 album-equivalent units, including 7,000 pure album sales. It is Offset’s second solo US top 10 album.
