Aisha Buhari Tells Boko Haram To Release The Dapchi Girls Using  #LeaveOurDaughtersAlone

The First Lady spoke publicly on the abduction for the first time on her social media.

First Lady, Aisha Buhari has called on Boko Haram to release the 110 schoolgirls kidnapped by terrorist group, Boko Haram in Dapchi, Yobe State, and urged Nigerians to pile on the pressure to put an end to such sad events.

The First Lady spoke publicly on the abduction for the first time on her social media accounts on Thursday, March 8, 2018, which is International Women’s Day.

She posted, “Today, I congratulate Nigerian Women on the occasion of International Women’s Day. For us in Nigeria, this year’s #InternationalWomensDay comes with a difference.

“We have to reflect the sad incidences of the abduction of our daughters, especially the recent one in #Dapchi Yobe State. This for us should take center stage.

“That is why we decided to develop a local theme: #LeaveOurDaughtersAlone as a strong call for the end of this national disaster and hope for their release.”

Attack on all-girls school

Boko Haram militants had invaded Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School in Dapchi, Bursari local government area of Yobe on Monday, February 19, 2018, and abducted 110 schoolgirls.

According to accounts by residents, the terrorists invaded the town around 7 pm in over 18 gun trucks mounted with high caliber weapons.

Their loud shooting alerted residents, school students and staff who ran to seek cover in the surrounding bushes.
