An amateur actress was found dead on the roof a first floor flat sparking a murder investigation.

IT sales worker Lorraine Bream’s body was discovered on a rooftop close to a busy shopping precinct.

Residents of the block of flats below said there had been a party at one flat the night before she was found.

Tributes were today paid to the 40-year-old divorcee as it emerged she had been preparing for a week’s break in Cyprus next week.

Friends described her as ‘outgoing’ and ‘confident’ with a ‘wicked sense of humour’.

Ms Bream’s body was found in Portsmouth, Hants, just before 11am on Monday morning.

Police arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He has been released on bail.

Hampshire Police are appealing for anyone who saw Ms Bream between 8pm Sunday night and when her body was found to contact them as they desperately try to piece together her final movements.

Late on Sunday afternoon Ms Bream posted a selfie on Facebook as she smiled in the sunshine.

Work colleague Shirley Hocking, 45, said: “She was a lovely woman, really big heart with an echoing contagious laugh and a larger than life personality.

“She is dearly missed already.”

She added that Ms Bream, who worked in sales support, was ‘one of the funniest, feisty, quick-witted and caring members’ of staff at the IT firm they worked for.

A keen amateur actress, Ms Bream was part of a group called the Phoenix Players, starring in comedy show Jailbird, set in a prison, earlier this year.

Chairwoman of the group Valerie Bird said: “It’s very sad indeed, she’s been in a few of our productions and was always very outgoing and friendly with everybody, and she was a very good actress – she will be a sad loss.
