Today on AOTW segment, we will be talking about top 4 Grimers. Now what is Grime music? Grime is a genre of electronic dance music that emerged in London in the early 2000s. It developed out of earlier UK electronic music styles, including UK garage and jungle, and draws influence from dancehall, ragga, and hip hop.

­Michael Dapaah (born January 1991) is an English actor, rapper, and comedian best known for portraying the fictional rapper Big Shaq (also known as Roadman Shaq). He is also known for his mockumentary  (Somewhere in London), which focuses on four characters and their journey to success. Dapaah began his career by garnering a social following for his brief comedic online skits, which he then adapted into his mockumentary series on YouTube titled  (Somewhere in London) which amassed over 1 million views in its first series.

Dapaah saw a rapid growth in public attention when he appeared on Charlie Sloth’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show “Fire in the Booth”. His comedic rap “Man’s Not Hot” (whose backing track was sampled from 67 and Giggs‘ 2016 track “Let’s Lurk”) developed into a viral meme, and a studio track version of the song was released on 22 September 2017. The song’s music video was released by Dapaah himself on 26 October of the same year; which features cameos from Waka Flocka FlameLil Yachty, and DJ Khaled, who calls Dapaah’s character a “legend”.

Nathaniel Thompson (born 11 May 1981), is an English rapper from London. He released his debut studio album Walk in da Park in 2008 and released a follow-up album Let Em Ave It the following year. Giggs released his third studio album When Will It Stop in October 2013. In 2016, Giggs released his fourth album Landlord, which entered and peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart – becoming the highest-charting album of his career. His latest mixtape Wamp 2 Dem was released in 2017. Giggs is also the frontman and founder of record label and rap collective SN1 (Spare No 1).

And Joseph Junior Adenuga (born 19 September 1982), better known by his stage name Skepta makes our no. 2 spot with shutdown. He is an English grime artist, rappersongwriterrecord producer and music video director.[1] Adenuga released his debut studio album Greatest Hits in 2007 and his second album, Microphone Champion in 2009, both independently; while his third studio album Doin’ It Again was released in 2011 by AATW. His fourth studio album, Konnichiwa, was released on 6 May 2016 to critical acclaim, winning that year’s Mercury Prize. Skepta’s younger brother, and Boy Better Know labelmate is the well known grime artist JME. They have collaborated many times, most recently on his album Konnichiwa. Adenuga is also the brother of Beats 1 DJ Julie Adenuga.

Michael Ebenazer Kwadjo Omari Owuo Jr. (born 26 July 1993), better known by his stage name Stormzy, is an English rapper. He won Best Grime Act at the 2014 and 2015 MOBO Awards and was named as an artist to look out for in the BBC’s influential Sound of 2015 list. His most successful song to date is the BPI platinum-selling “Shut Up”, which was initially released as a freestyle on YouTube. The track was then officially released and got to number eight on the UK Singles Chart after Stormzy launched a campaign to reach Christmas number one.

On 12 December 2015, Stormzy performed “Shut Up” during British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua‘s ring-walk for his fight versus Dillian Whyte.Originally, “Shut Up”, released as part of the “Wicked Skeng Man 4” single EP in September 2015, charted at number 59. Since the performance, it began climbing up the iTunes chart and into the top 40. As a result, Stormzy launched a Christmas number 1 campaign to get the song to number 1. It generated a large amount of support which made it enter the top 10 of the UK Singles Chart on 18 December 2015 at number 8, a week prior to the Christmas number 1 week, succeeding the chart position of “Wicked Skeng Man 4”. It has become Stormzy’s highest-charting single. He makes our no. 1 spot with
