He’s American actor, comedian, writer, producer, director and DJ. He performs as a DJ under the name mcDJ. Speaking of movies, he’s playing the lead role in the currently trending Disney’s Lion King Remake costarring with Beyoncé! More clues! He’s compared himself to the late Tupac. “I am the new Tupac in a strange way” in his voice. Well some others have done that in recent times. T.I did that recently in a diss track. Donald McKinley Glover, popularly known as Childish Gambino was born on September 25th 1983 (will be 35) in Edwards Air Force Base, California, United States. He was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, a suburb outside of Atlanta. After attending high school at DeKalb School of the Arts, he attended New York University Tisch School of the Arts, where he graduated in 2006 with a degree in Dramatic Writing. Fast forward to music, in June 2008, he released the independent mixtape Sick Boi.
In September 2009, he released his second mixtape Poindexter. A pair of mixtapes, titled I Am Just A Rapper and I Am Just A Rapper 2 were released in close succession in 2010 and followed that July by his 5th mixtape Culdesac. His first extended play, titled EP was released as a free digital download and a music video for the song “Freaks and Geeks” was released in March 2011. Glover commenced his nationwide IAMDONALD Tour in April.

Childish Gambino embarked on his Camp Gambino tour in April 2012. The tour was scheduled to commence in March but was postponed to April due to Glover’s fractured foot.
In 2013, Glover signed on to create a music-themed show for FX titled Atlanta. He dropped his second studio album, Because the Internet in December, debuting at No7 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album yielded the singles “3005”, “Crawl” and “Sweatpants”. To promote the album, the short film Clapping for the Wrong Reasons, which he wrote and starred in was released prior to the album’s release and serves as its prelude. Additionally, a 72-page screenplay designed to sync up with the album was also released. The album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. From February to May 2014, he embarked on The Deep Web Tour. His 3rd studio album “Awaken, My Love!” was released by Glassnote Records in December 2, 2016 and produced by Glover and his longtime collaborator, Ludwig Göransson.

Glover’s musical stage name, Childish Gambino, came from the Wu-Tang Clan’s name generator. Wu-Tang Clan is an American hip hop group formed in the New York City in the late 1992. They are regarded as one of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time.
He was reportedly settled a royalties dispute with Glassnote Records in March 2019, the label who released his first three albums.
