It’s the beginning of a new year, and I know each and every one of us are super excited to start the year off right. You’ve promise yourself that this will be the year you grow your business or advance your career like never before or anything else that’s of importance to you. I know most people have jotted down some new resolutions, and away you go!
But before you know it, you’re quickly back to doing things the way you’ve always done them and getting the same results. Sound familiar? Well this is for you then, even for me. So here are four tips to start the new year off right.
1. Set reasonable and specific goals: The surest way to fall short of your goal is to make your goal unattainable. When establishing your goals, be selective. Set a goal, you can start small, set goals for a week, for a month, little by Little. This can also help, have a journal of what you want to achieve and when you do that, you can tick it off. I know you’d be like why would I do that. But trust me. It works. It’s better to move one thing forward a mile than ten things forward an inch and that way you can keep track of her success and reward yourself of a job well done.
2. Avoid repeating past failures: Doing things, the same way, when you didn’t get the results, you are seeking won’t change the outcome. Instead, take a different approach. And If things aren’t going according to plan, ask for help. There’s no shame in admitting that you need assistance. This new year. Let go of pride. Remove it from your life.
3. Attain New skills: According to an article by Forbes which was published on the 31st of December, 2021, You’ll likely need new skills to move ahead with your career plans or keep up with the times in your business. Take note of what you’ll need to learn this year and develop a strategy for mastering these skills and be consistent with it.
4. Balance work and play: In most cases, our jobs and work take priority over many other things in our life. Work isn’t going anywhere. The greatest wealth you can build is time for yourself. Schedule time on your calendar where you can get away and be free from distraction. Think about this and then say yes to doing something you love!
